Europe Is Gone

Numerous attacks like the ones below are happening almost daily in Europe.  The question is when will they happen in the US – and not If.

As a community, it is our responsibility to support and protect vulnerable members, such as children, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities. Especially in the urban environment, where threats and attacks can happen anytime, it is important to have a plan in place to ensure their safety.

We collaborate with a wide array of counter-terrorism organizations listed below, with the aim of keeping the community well-informed and facilitating joint training efforts among all community stakeholders.

Bomb Attacks

Bomb attacks involve the use of explosive devices to cause destruction, casualties, and spread fear. These can range from improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in public spaces to sophisticated bombings targeting infrastructure.

Shootings

Terrorist shootings involve attackers opening fire on civilians or specific targets to kill or injure as many people as possible. These attacks are hard to predict and can happen in schools, places of worship, or entertainment venues.

Vehicle Attacks

In vehicle ramming attacks, perpetrators use vehicles as weapons, driving them into crowds or buildings to cause mass casualties. This method has been used for its simplicity and the difficulty of preventing such attacks in public spaces.

Knife Attacks

Knife attacks are carried out by individuals wielding knives or other bladed instruments, aiming to inflict harm through stabbing or slashing. These attacks often occur in crowded places to maximize casualties and generate public fear..

Vandalism

Defacing or damaging property, including graffiti, breaking windows, or destroying campus facilities, may constitute vandalism.

Suicide Attacks

Suicide bombings are perpetrated by individuals who detonate explosives attached to their bodies in crowded areas, intending to kill others while sacrificing themselves. This method is distinguished by the willingness of the attacker to die, which can make these attacks particularly lethal.

Chemical Attacks

Chemical attacks utilize toxic substances to inflict harm, operational through methods like aerosol dispersal in populated areas or contamination of water supplies. The aim is to cause immediate casualties and long-term health issues, sparking fear and chaos.

Biological Attacks

Biological terrorism involves the deliberate release of pathogens, such as viruses or bacteria, to cause illness, death, and panic among the population. This type of attack poses threats of widespread disease outbreaks that could overwhelm healthcare systems.

Cyber Attacks

Cyber terrorism includes attacks on computer systems, networks, and digital infrastructures aiming to disrupt, disable, or gain unauthorized access to critical information. Such attacks can have significant repercussions on national security, financial systems, and personal privacy.

Hostage Situations

Hostage-taking involves capturing individuals or groups to leverage negotiations, often demanding ransom or political concessions. These situations can lead to standoffs with law enforcement and endanger the lives of those held captive.

“Dirty Bomb” Attacks

(No where so far) Dirty bomb attacks involve dispersing radioactive materials using conventional explosives, aiming not necessarily to kill immediately but to contaminate areas with radiation, causing long-term health risks and widespread panic due to the fear of radiation exposure.

Assaults

Altercations between protesters and counter-protesters, campus security, or bystanders that result in physical harm can lead to assault charges.
